All About Bikram Yoga

Bikram Choudhury and a company based in Los Angeles, California have developed this style of contemporary Yoga. This is also called Hot Yoga or Fire Yoga. This yoga style is done in a heated room having the temperature of 105 degree Fahrenheit or 40.5 degree Celsius. The humidity of the room should be 40%.

This form of yoga revitalizes the whole body of an individual. Bikram Yoga consists of twenty-six postures or asanas along with two exercises of breathing. Bikram Choudhury is an inhabitant of India. He took his training at a school named the Bishnu Ghosh School which is in Calcutta in India. Yogacharya Bishnu Ghosh is the brother of Yogananda Paramahansa, a renowned yogi and the author of a book named "Autobiography of a Yogi. Choudhury now stays in Beverly Hills and teaches the form of yoga in his own college which is situated in Los Angeles. The name of the college is Bikram's Yoga College of India. He also holds a copyright of the United States on this style of yoga. The instructors who teach this style need to do training as well as a certification in order to teach this form. He has already opened five hundred yoga studios all over the world and new ones are still coming up frequently.

It is a form of Hatha Yoga and is practiced in a hot room to enhance sweating. Sweating helps us to get rid of the body toxins. The body also gets warm, and in turn, flexible enough to perform all the poses. The hot temperature of the studio enables a person to stretch and bend deeply.
